Cade's 9th Birthday

December 23rd was Cade's 9th Birthday... I can't believe how fast time goes! For his birthday this year he got a golden retriever puppy. Cade named his new dog Rocky and he is adorable! Cade also went snowboarding on his birthday and is turning into a little dare devil... he apparently is trying to master the 360. Its a good thing he wears a helmet!

Thanksgiving

We spent the 1st part of Thanksgiving with the Bott Family. Matt's brother Nick and his family were here from Texas. Nick and his wife have 2 little boys, Hunter & Camden and they are expecting a baby girl in the spring. Cade had a lot of fun hanging out with all of his cousins the past few days... they had sleepovers at Grandma and Grandpa Bott's every night. Matt's Grandparents also drove down from Idaho to spend the Holdiay with everyone, it was a full house!

The last part of Thanksgiving we spent with my family at Steve and Carol's. This must have been the year that everyone went to other families because it wasn't to lively and we missed seeing everyone! Oh well, there is always next year!

Twilight

I loved the twilight movie!!!!!!!!! I went expecting the worst and I walked away pleasantly surprised. I have been nervous to go because I thought Edward wasn't as hot as he is supposed to be and I wasn't sure about Bella. Wow was I wrong! Edward was really hot... except for a few scenes and I loved Bella - she didn't seem as whiney as in the book. I did get a kick out of Jasper... he kind of looked funny sometimes, but he was hot too! I want to go see it again soon! I think I'll wait until it dies down tho, we pre bought tickets and we still had to wait in line for an hour and 15 minutes and we weren't even in the front of the line! I can't wait for the next one to come out. I heard it wasn't coming out until 2010 :( I hope that isn't right.

Finally... The After Photos

Sorry it has taken me so long to post these... I kind of forgot.
Basically it is a brand new house. We were able to restore the original hardwood floors throughout the entire main floor. The kitchen & Bath have been entirely re-done, and the rest of the house has new baseboards, trim, paint and light fixtures.

Now we can start on the basement!!

Halloween

For Halloween Cade decided to be some rotting, zombie monster... it was ugly! I figure I might as well let him be as nasty and gross as he wants to be on Halloween since it only comes once a year! He had a great time and he scared a few people including me!

House Renovation...

We started renovating this little 1950's brick home a couple of months ago and we are going to be finished this week! So... I'm posting the before pictures now and at the end of the week I'm going to post the after pictures! I think you'll be impressed!

Indoor Soccer!

So I just had my first 4 on 4 indoor soccer game and i should have been better prepared! I haven't played soccer in 10 years, and I've never played indoor. I was a little concerned about the fact that the game doesn't really ever stop and you just play off of the walls - that means you never stop running! Only 4 of our players showed up so we didn't have any subs... that was rough. It all ended up coming back to me, but 40 minutes of almost non-stop play nearly killed me. My legs are so sore that I don't think I'll be able to walk in the morning! I'm happy to say that I was able to hold my own for the most part even with our ex BYU soccer player! I'll make Matt or someone take a picture next time just to prove that I really am playing... its hard for even me to believe! Anyway, I think I better start jogging at night to build up my endurance or start going to the gym again. Oh... We Won!!

4 Books, 1 Week... No Problem

Last Saturday I started to read Twilight. My friend Melanie has been bugging me to read these books for the last few months. I really do love to read, but its complicated. Once I start reading I can't stop... thats why I don't read as much as I used to, it takes up all my time!

Anyway, I gave in and started to read this series...bad idea. I already had an obsession with vampires - seriously (something not everyone new). Its been a week and and I have read all four books. I actually just finished Breaking Dawn about 5 minutes ago (Cade can have his mom back). I have to say that I am obsessed with these books and the characters! I am even considering starting over and re-reading them. I might give myself a few days tho... I've had a lot of late nights! I think I can go a little slower the 2nd time tho.

Well in summary they are all great books, I think Twilight is my favorite followed by Eclipse and Breaking dawn; New Moon was definatly the hardest to get thru, but necessary now that I've read them all. I read so many bad reviews about Breaking Dawn and I was not displeased in the slightest. I'm really hoping that Stephanie Meyer continues the story... maybe??? Anyway I think everyone should read these books - just clear a week or two first :) I can't wait to see the movie!!

Fun in the Sun!

Every year we spend a few days in bear lake. We always

stay in the condo at ideal beach/sweetwater. We've done this ever since I

was a little girl and its one of the things that I remember enjoying

most about summer. Now we are doing it for our kids!

Yellowstone

This past weekend we went to Yellowstone National Park and had a great time. We didn't see as many animals as we wanted to, but it was fun anyway. We went to all the geysers including old faithful and the kids were really into the hot pots. I was nervous the whole time thinking that one of them would fall in. We also saw several waterfalls and that is what really interests me, I could watch waterfalls all day. That was really nerve wracking too, they don't have rails around a lot of the drop offs and we were constantly telling Cade and Branson to move back...Haylee is scared of heights so she was easy to watch.

Overall we had a great time and I'd love to go back when we have more time to spend in the park and maybe do some river rafting!

Summer in 60 seconds...

So here is a quick rundown of our spring/summer so far...

Baseball - Matt and Brian coached Cade and Kyson's baseball team this year and they've done a really great job. Cade and the other boys have improved so much and they had a ton of fun. Cade informed me the other day that baseball is his life!

Cade loves playing catcher and he is really good at it. He kind of got stuck doing it because no one else wanted to and its been a really good for him

Cade (#8) is also one of our big hitters. He went thru a little slump for a couple of games, but he informed me that it happens to all the major league players so it was ok.

Swimming - The kids love going swimming. The aqautic center is one of our favorite places!

Cade is quite the dare devil. He loves doing flips off the diving board. I'm just waiting for the day that he does it off of the high dive!

Camping - We love camping especially in the big nice trailer! We go up Beaver Creek and take the 4-wheelers and dirt bikes. Its a great place to camp!
